To simplify information sharing and improve document traceability, OpenFlyers is updating the Documentation module. This update reorganizes the access menus, enables linking files directly to the global organization (rather than strictly to a specific resource), and introduces full version tracking.
Feature Breakdown
- Management Menu Reorganization: The Management > Communications menu has been renamed Management > Com/Docs and now hosts the document management module (previously located under Management > Resources > Documents).
- Direct Access from the Schedule: A new Docs menu is now available in the Schedule tab. It allows all users to easily view available documents. To streamline searches, the list includes two filters: by Category and by Resource/Organization.
- Linking to the Organization: In the document editing and viewing table, the Resource column has been renamed Resource/Organization. The drop-down menu now includes the Organization option, allowing you to publish general documents at the organization level (internal regulations, field guidelines, administrative forms, etc.) without having to tie them to a specific aircraft or resource.
- Version History & Traceability: Every time a document is updated, the complete history of previous versions is preserved. Similar to validity tracking, you can now view the following for each version:
- The upload date;
- The name of the user who uploaded the file.
